PGT Impact Garage Doors in Fort Pierce: What to Know First

PGT impact garage doors in Fort Pierce run between $1,800 and $6,400 installed depending on the panel line, wind-load rating, and whether you are replacing one panel or the full door. We are an independent PGT service provider, not a PGT factory outlet, and we handle installation, replacement, and repair work on PGT doors across Fort Pierce, Lakewood Park, and Indian River Estates. Most single-panel repairs are done in one visit. Full replacements typically take two to three visits once the door is measured and ordered.

Call (772) 218-5890

This page is for homeowners who already own a PGT garage door or are deciding whether to put one in. If yours is binding, leaking, or making noise after a storm, call (772) 218-5890 and we will tell you over the phone whether it sounds like a repair or a replacement. No charge for the conversation.

How PGT Products Fail - and How We Fix Them

  • PGT 5500 Series panels bowing at the center stile. The 5500 is a workhorse impact door, but on west-facing Fort Pierce exposures the aluminum skin expands enough over ten or twelve summers that the center stile loosens from the panel core. You will see a soft dent where the stile meets the skin when you push on it. We re-secure the stile with structural adhesive rated for impact assemblies and re-torque the hinge fasteners to manufacturer spec. If the panel is too far gone, we order the exact 5500 panel from PGT rather than patching it.
  • Roller carriers wearing out on PGT WinGuard doors. WinGuard garage doors carry a heavy glass-reinforced panel, and the factory roller carriers take all of that weight on two small nylon wheels. After eight to ten years in a humid Fort Pierce garage, those wheels flat-spot and the door starts jerking halfway up. We replace the carriers with aftermarket units that have sealed bearings and a higher load rating than the OEM carrier. It costs less than a new panel and takes under an hour.
  • Bottom seal extrusion pulling away from the panel. On PGT’s residential lines the bottom weatherstrip retainer is screwed into the panel every sixteen inches. Salt air off the Indian River Lagoon corrodes those screws, the retainer sags, and the door stops sealing against the concrete. We pull the old retainer, tap new stainless fasteners, and set the seal back with a compression fit so it holds against standing water during a summer thunderstorm.
  • Track misalignment after hurricane-season settling. Fort Pierce sits on sandy soil, and slabs shift more than homeowners realize. A PGT door that ran true in January can start rubbing the track by August. We re-shim the track brackets, re-square the opening, and reset the travel limits so the opener is not fighting the door on every cycle. This is the most common cause of burned-out opener motors we see on PGT installs.
  • Impact glass delamination on older PGT doors. PGT’s laminated glass panels are built to take a hit, but the interlayer can start to haze at the edges after fifteen years of Florida sun. It does not compromise the impact rating, but it looks wrong and it will not improve. We replace the glass pack with a current PGT or ES Windows unit and re-glaze the panel in place when the frame is sound.

Our PGT Impact Garage Doors Process

  1. 1
You call. A live person answers. We ask about the door’s age, the panel line if you know it, and what the door is doing. We’ll give you a straight read on whether it is worth a service call.
  2. 2
We measure. Every opening gets measured twice. A PGT door is built to a wind-load spec for the exact opening size, and an eighth of an inch either way changes which panel is correct.
  3. 3
We decide parts. For warranty-sensitive work we use OEM PGT parts. For aged doors outside warranty, we recommend the highest-quality aftermarket option and show you the difference on paper before ordering.
  4. 4
We do the work. Uniformed, background-checked techs handle the install or repair. We work in your garage the way we would work in our own mother’s.
  5. 5
We test the door. Full cycle test, balance check, and a wind-load inspection on impact-rated assemblies. If something is not true, it gets fixed before the truck leaves.
  6. 6
We register both warranty layers in writing. The Keystone Standard means you get both the manufacturer warranty and our Done Right Promise on paper before we leave the driveway.

What PGT Impact Garage Doors Costs in Fort Pierce

Here is what we typically see in Fort Pierce:

  • Single panel replacement on a PGT 5500 Series: $400-$900 including panel, labor, and hardware
  • Roller carrier and track service: $180-$350 for a 16-foot door with aftermarket carriers
  • Full PGT impact garage door replacement, standard 16×7: $2,800-$5,200 depending on panel line and wind-load rating
  • Impact glass pack replacement on one panel: $350-$750 depending on glass package
  • Full door replacement with PGT WinGuard panels: $3,200-$6,400 for a double-wide opening

The price moves on three things: the wind-load zone your opening falls into (the Florida Building Code map matters, and Fort Pierce sits in a high-velocity hurricane zone), whether your track and springs are salvageable, and how the door is configured. We give a written line-item quote before work starts, and the price we quote is the price you pay. Call (772) 218-5890 for a free estimate. A real person answers.

Why Fort Pierce Homeowners Call TruePane Windows & Doors for PGT Work

Dale Kessler grew up off Okeechobee Road on the north side of Fort Pierce, and he has been doing glass and door work on the Treasure Coast since before PGT moved its headquarters to North Venice. He learned the trade at Indian River State College, then spent years working alongside his father up and down the coast. His rule is still on the whiteboard in the shop: if the pane is not true, the job is not done.

Every PGT job we take is covered by the Done Right Promise and The Keystone Standard. Both manufacturer warranty layers get registered in writing before the truck leaves your driveway. And because we are also authorized installers for CGI, CWS, ES Windows, and ECO Window Systems, we can quote you side by side on paper if a PGT door is not the right call for your opening. One company, one crew, no franchise playbook.

"A casement crank had stripped and the sash was swollen shut. The technician, Ray, fixed the crank on the spot and only then talked about replacement for the three windows that were genuinely done. That is why the whole street uses them now."

EEleanor G.
★★★★★

"Whole-house window replacement at 71 years old is not something you want to do twice. Dale walked the house himself for the quote. Crew was the same three men all four days, and the foreman knew every window by room."

PPat and Ray L.
★★★★★

"Eleven windows replaced in two days. The crew chief, Marcus, showed me the level on every single frame before they caulked it. My wife noticed the street noise was gone before I did."

RRonald P.
★★★★★

"Impact windows on the whole house. They handled the permit, the inspection, and gave me a folder with every approval number for the insurance company. My windstorm premium dropped enough to notice."
